Mary Beth is an International Counselor in ISSS, advising students on F-1 visa issues and connecting them to campus and community resources.

Mary Beth has worked in international education since 2010. She began her career by teaching English at Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications in Chongqing, China from 2010-2014. She returned to her alma mater the University of Oklahoma and worked in the International Student Services office advising students and leading international student programming until 2021. Mary Beth is passionate about welcoming new students to the U.S. and helping students work through complicated immigration issues, and she enjoys learning about the diverse cultures represented at the U. She recently earned her M.Ed. in Education Policy with a dual concentration in International Education Administration & Leadership and Diversity & Equity in Education from the University of Illinois. 

Mary Beth has studied abroad in Chengdu and Beijing, China and has traveled to South Korea, Thailand, the Maldives, Uganda, Finland, Canada, and India. She hopes to go to your home country soon! In her free time she enjoys trying new foods, watching gymnastics, and walking around the lakes.
