USCIS to increase application fees April 1

Starting on April 1, 2024, the application fees for several USCIS forms will increase. The forms that are relevant to F-1 and J-1 students are the I-765 (OPT and STEM OPT extension) and the I-539 (change of status and reinstatement).

In addition, starting April 1 USCIS will begin charging a higher fee for application forms submitted on paper (by mail). Students who can submit their applications online to USCIS using their myUSCIS account will pay a lower fee. See the chart below for the current and new fees.
