DIVERSITY LOTTERY (FOR U.S. PERMANENT RESIDENCE) (8/26/2003)
NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1. NO F-1 DOCUMENT SPECIALIST WALK-INS ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 6
Due to SEVIS processing, F-1 Document Specialist walk-ins have
been cancelled on Monday, October 6. Thank you for your patience.

2. WORKSHOP ON JOB SEARCH STRATEGIES: TUESDAY, OCTOBER 7, 3:30
- 5:00 P.M., ANDERSON HALL 270
An introduction to the process of finding a practical training
or career position in the U.S. We will discuss how to find job openings,
what employers look for, cultural differences in the job search
process, and campus resources.
Note: Career Workshops will be held every Tuesday afternoon from
October 7 - November 18 in Anderson Hall Room 270. Topics include
resume-writing, interviewing, visa options, etc. Detailed information

3. CROSS-CULTURAL DISCUSSION GROUPS STILL AVAILABLE: NEW TIME
and BEGIN DATE for Thursday group!
INTERNATIONAL and U.S. STUDENTS are invited to join our new discussion
group. Group members will share cross-cultural experiences, personal
thoughts and feelings in a relaxed small group atmosphere.
THURSDAY group is still available!!!
Every Thursday 3 to 5 p.m. (October 9 - December 4)
To join the group, please contact ISSS (612-626-7100) to schedule
a pre-group meeting with one of the group leaders. The group will
start from October 9, so please contact us ASAP. For information,

4. F-1 CURRICULAR/OPTIONAL PRACTICAL TRAINING WORKSHOP, FRIDAY,
OCTOBER 10
Attend one of these workshops to find out everything you need to
know about Curricular and Optional Practical Training! Pick up the
forms that you need, ask questions, and learn from your fellow students
questions as well. This workshop is from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in Heller
Hall, room 110. CPT information begins at 1:30 p.m., and OPT at
2:30 p.m.

6. DO YOU HAVE YOUR SEVIS DOCUMENT?
If you never picked up your first SEVIS I-20 or DS-2019 (which was
requested months ago) and only have the old non-SEVIS version of
your document, PLEASE come to pick it up at the ISSS front desk
right away. It is very important that YOU have your own valid visa
document.
