    1. SMALL WORLD COFFEE HOUR THIS FRIDAY, OCTOBER 3

    Come join in on the fun! Don't miss this Friday's Small World Coffee Hour co-sponsored by the Friendship Association of Chinese Students and Scholars. Enjoy traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony and Calligraphy while listening to the unique rhythms of Chinese music. Learn some Chinese Dance, Tai‚Chi, or the powerful Chinese Kongfu. Have some fun making Chinese food (Dumplings), or watching Jugglings. And of course, who could forget, wonderful coffee with even better conversations. Come learn all about China and its cultures while meeting new people.

    INTERNATIONAL and U.S. STUDENTS are invited to join our new discussion group. Group members will share cross-cultural experiences, personal thoughts and feelings in a relaxed small group atmosphere. Two groups available:
    Time and Begin Date changed for THURSDAY group
    - Every Thursday 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. (October 9 - December 4)
    - Every Friday 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. (October 3 - December 5)
    To join a group, please contact ISSS (612-626-7100) to schedule a pre-group meeting with one of the group leaders. The group may fill up quickly, so please contact us ASAP.

    3. WORKSHOP ON JOB SEARCH STRATEGIES: TUESDAY, OCTOBER 7, 3:30 - 5:00 P.M.

    An introduction to the process of finding a practical training or career position in the U.S. We will discuss how to find job openings, what employers look for, cultural differences in the job search process, and campus resources.
    Note: Career Workshops will be held every Tuesday afternoon from October 7 - November 18 in Anderson Hall Room 270. Topics include resume-writing, interviewing, visa options, etc. Detailed information will be posted on the ISSS Career Services web page in the next few days.

    4. BEFORE YOU DROP CLASSES

    Please check with ISSS before dropping classes. If you would be taking less than a full course of study, you must consult an ISSS advisor during walk-ins or an appointment. For more information, please carefully read the instructions attached to the Exception from Full Course of Study form available on the ISSS web site at:
