1. F-1 CURRICULAR/OPTIONAL PRACTICAL TRAINING WORKSHOP, FRIDAY, APRIL 25

Attend one of these workshops to find out everything you need to know about Curricular and Optional Practical Training!  Pick up the forms that you need, ask questions, and learn from your fellow students questions as well.  This workshop is from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Humphrey Center, room 289.  CPT information begins at 2:00 p.m., and OPT at 3:00 p.m.

2. SMALL WORLD COFFEE HOUR THIS UPCOMING FRIDAY!!!

WHEN:  FRIDAY, April 25
TIME:  4:00 - 6:00 p.m.
WHERE:  Heller Hall, room 110 (West Bank campus, Minneapolis)

Discover South America at the next Small World Coffee Hour (April 25), cosponsored by La Raza student association.  Experience the culture, tastes and music from several regions, and learn to dance Salsa.  Also, our music presentation series continues:  the South American music trip will take you on a journey through Uruguay (polca, chotis, mazurca, vals, maxixa, and habanera), Southern Brazil (vanera), and Argentina (chamame').  Jose' Curbelo (who spent two years in Uruguay studying old-time accordion arrangements at the National School of Music) and a group of talented international musicians, will play funky old-time South American dance music.  Don't miss out on the chance to dance to the sounds of Milonga with us! 

3. ATTENTION GRADUATES!,ALUMNI GIFT AND CELEBRATION

As ISSS announced previously, we are planning a graduation celebration for international students on FRIDAY, MAY 2, 2003.  All international undergraduate, professional, and graduate students who graduated or completed a program from fall 2002 through all of 2003 are invited to attend a celebration with ISSS and the Office of International Programs.  Your families, academic advisers, and friends are also invited to come for this celebration honoring you. The University of Minnesota Alumni Association (UMAA) would like to honor you with a graduation gift, a FREE, one-year membership in the University of Minnesota Alumni Association.  Being a member of the alumni association is a great way to stay connected to the U of M after you move on or return to your home country. Please join us on FRIDAY, MAY 2, 2003 from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. in the Humphrey Ballroom, Radisson Hotel Metrodome, 615 Washington Avenue S.E., Minneapolis.  A short program will begin at 4:30 p.m.  No reservation is necessary.
