The staff members of International Student and Scholar Services
and the Office of International Programs invite you to attend a
celebration to honor graduating international undergraduate, professional,
and graduate students, their families, academic advisors, and friends.
ISSS Office will close at 2:30 on Friday, May 2, to allow ISSS
staff to attend the International Graduation Celebration. . Due
to the early closing, ISSS will not provide any walk-in services
on May 2, 2002.

SAME-DAY TRAVEL SIGNATURE, APRIL 30
If you are leaving the U.S. and you do not need to apply for a
new entry visa stamp, you will need a valid travel signature on
your I-20. This service usually has a two-day turn-around time.
However, ISSS will offer travel signature service on a Same-Day
basis on Tuesday, April 30, between 8:30 am 11:45 am, and 1:00
pm - 4:15 pm.
To qualify for a Same-Day Signature, a student must bring to ISSS:
- 20ID
- Passport with valid F-1 entry visa stamp
- Form I-94 (white card) _ Unofficial transcript
- Exception From a Full Course of Study form(s), if needed
- EAD (if you have Optional Practical Training)
Students who need to apply for a new entry visa will need to see
Suzan, Monday through Friday after 10:30 am.

5. ON-CAMPUS WORK PERMIT ENDS ON GRADUATION DAY
International students attending the U who meet student employment
eligibility criteria are automatically authorized to work on campus
(part-time during school, full-time during break). This work authorization
ends on the day a student graduates. Please meet with an ISSS advisor
to discuss and secure proper work authorization before continuing
your on-campus employment after graduation. This includes your graduate
assistantship.
6.
SUMMER EMPLOYMENT OFF THE UM CAMPUS
As an international student, you MUST have an off campus work permit
before working off campus. This INS rule applies year round (including
summer) and nationwide (anywhere within the U.S.). Please meet with
an advisor before you accept any off-campus job, regardless which
state you will be working in.

NRAWARE NON-RESIDENT TAX PREPARATION SOFTWARE IS NOW
AVAILABLE!
NRAware non-resident tax preparation software is available to
all University of Minnesota- Twin Cities students, scholars, and
staff. To login, go to nraware.com
and click the link to the left of the home page that states "NRAware!Online".
This year the program is totally web-based. No need to download
software!

Students sponsored by a sponsoring agency should contact that
agency to learn about tax procedures and services specific to the
organization.
ISSS staff are not trained to answer tax questions and are legally
unable to address individual tax concerns.

2002-2003
International Student Financial Aid Forms for the 2002 - 2003 Academic
Year are now available. To pick one up, please stop by ISSS in Room
