NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1. ISSS WILL BE CLOSED WEDNESDAY,
JULY 30, 1:30-4:30 PM
ISSS will close Wednesday, July 30 at 1:30 for the rest of the day so that
our staff can attend an Office of International Programs retreat. We
apologize for any inconvenience. Please plan your visits accordingly.
1 . URGENT FOR F-1'S ON OPT
Students on OPT must report employment to ISSS, or they may possibly be
terminated by SEVIS and lose their F-1 visa status after 90 days of
unemployment. Part-time, volunteer work, or self-employment are all able to
be counted as employment, as long as the work is in the student's field of
study. E-mail to isssopt@umn.edu with employment information before 90 days
after your EAD start date. If the EAD start date is before April 8, report
before July 8. More information about the new OPT regulations can be found

2. AUGUST F AND J WALK-IN HOURS
Please note the change in walk-in hours during the month of August due to
our International Student Orientation Program (ISOP) for new students. For
