1. END-OF-THE-YEAR AND GRADUATION PARTY

Students, scholars, families and friends! Mark your calendars for this get-together to celebrate graduates in 2007 and 2008 as well as everyone who has completed a program and returning home. Great food! Music! Take a self-guided tour of the galleries and have your picture taken with Goldy Gopher!

2. ISSS WILL CLOSE MAY 9 AT 3 PM

Because we are hosting the End of the Year and Graduation Celebration on May 9, ISSS will close at 3 p.m. Please plan your visit ISSS accordingly. Thank you!

3. INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIP GROUP (IFGP) INTERNS NEEDED!

ISSS is looking for undergraduate international student interns to work with our Undergraduate International Friendship Group Program. This program was created to ease the transition, with current undergraduate students helping new international undergraduate students. The IFGP Internship is non-paid but it will give you valuable training and experience you can use in your resume and future professional work! Apply by May 17th! 4. CPT/OPT WORKSHOP - MAY 7

Find out everything you need to know about Curricular and Optional Practical Training. Obtain the forms you need, ask questions, and learn from your fellow students' questions as well. See more information ....

5. INTERNATIONAL MOVIE SERIES "GOOD BYE LENIN"
: CULTURE CORPS EVENT

"Good Bye Lenin"! is a German tragicomedy released internationally in 2003. In 1990, to protect his fragile mother from a fatal shock after a long coma; a young man must keep her from learning that her beloved nation of East Germany as she knew it has disappeared. Afterwards, we will have a discussion on the film.
DATE: Friday, May 16, 2008
TIME: 2 pm - 5 pm
PLACE: 425 Blegen Hall, Minneapolis West Bank

COST: Free and open to the public with free Austrian refreshments

6. GRADUATING STUDENTS NOTICE
OF INTERNET/E-MAIL ACCOUNT STATUS EMAIL

Please note that your e-mail inbox will remain active a minimum of three semesters after the last term you register. To keep it active longer, you must access it once every 6 months. The University and ISSS will continue to use your e-mail address for official communications, so check your e-mail regularly or have it forwarded to an address you actively monitor.

INTERNET ID (for example, "user1234") and password will remain active for five years. This gives you access to:
1. Your e-mail inbox -- as long as it remains active (see above).
2. Directory Tools -- for e-mail forwarding and other account options.
3. OneStop -- for updating address information, transcripts, etc.

7. ATTENTION STUDENTS AND SCHOLARS PREPARING TO GO HOME!

Check out the helpful hints on the ISSS website http://www.isss.umn.edu/reentry/ to prepare you for re-entering your home country, and be sure to inform ISSS of your departure plans.
