1. CAREER WORKSHOP, “JOB INTERVIEWS”:
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 18

International students often report that interviewing is the most perplexing aspect of finding a job. Learn about interview purpose, format, standard questions, effective communication, and dress. Tips for preparation will be provided. This workshop will focus on how to prepare for an interview and what to expect. No registration is required.

2. SMALL WORK COFFEE HOUR IS BACK THIS UPCOMING
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 21!!!

The Small World Coffee Hour Staff invites you to this week's special "Pre Halloween" event. Join us for some exciting Halloween activities anda pumpkin carving contest. Don’t miss the opportunity to try your Halloween costumes (not required for participation)! Enjoy Halloween cookies and candies, and make your favorite ice-cream while listening to some spooky music that mightgive you chills. Come alone or with your friends...Happy Halloween!

3. CAREER WORKSHOP, “EMPLOYMENT-BASED VISAS”:
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 25

An immigration specialist from a local law firm will give an overview of employment-based visa options, including H-1B Temporary Worker Visas, O-1 Extraordinary Ability Visas, and permanent residency options. This workshop will focus on the options for employment-based visas and steps you need to take to obtain the visa.

4. TRAINING FOR GLOBAL UNDERSTANDING,“CREATING A SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT”:
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 25

Whether in the classroom, in meetings, or in your office, we all strive to provide a supportive climate for our clients. Come learn what kind of challenges and issues that international and multicultural students encounter in the U.S. and the support they are looking for. Leave the session with tips for effectively working with cultural differences and general tips for creating a supportive environment. On-line registration is required.
