1. JOB SEARCH STRATEGIES – CAREER WORKSHOP: TUESDAY, OCTOBER 4
Are you planning to graduate soon? Are you interested in getting a job in the United States? Please come to ISSS Career Workshop series!
- First session: Job Search Strategies: Tuesday, Oct. 4, 3:00–4:30 p. m.
- Second session: Resume & Cover Letter: Tuesday, Oct. 11, 3:00–4:30 p.m.
Other topics include interviewing, academic job search, employment–based visa options, etc. All the career workshops will be held every Tuesday 3:00–4:30 p.m. from Oct. 4 –Nov. 1 in Anderson Hall Room 270. Detailed information is available on the ISSS Career Services web page.
2. INTERNATIONAL HEALTH ADVOCATES OPEN HOUSE: THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 29
The International Health Advocates (IHAs) would like to invite you to the fall International Student Open House on Thursday September 29, 2005 at Boynton Health Services. This event will take place between 11 am – 2 pm in room W–120 Boynton. Come find out answers to your health–related questions and more. Last year’s Open House was a big success with over 400 attendees (check out: www.bhs.umn.edu/IHA/openhouse04.htm) There will be free food from all over the world; free chair massages; clinic tours; Boynton staff available to meet; and much, much more.
The mission of the International Health Advocate program is to help enhance the health of international students at the U of M. Information about the IHAs and how they can help you is available at http://bhs.umn.edu/iha. If you ever have questions for IHAs, you can reach them in one of three ways:

3. LAST CHANCE FOR CROSS–CULTURAL DISCUSSION GROUPS: FALL 2005 SEMESTER

4.STUDENT POSITION WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF GERMAN, SCANDINAVIAN AND DUTCH
The Department of German, Scandinavian and Dutch is looking for a native speaker of German to help with the organization of “Kaffeestunde”, a weekly conversational hour on Fridays between 11:15 am – 12:20 pm. The candidate must be eligible for a Culture Corps grant and is expected to work 2 hours a week during the fall semester. To check eligibility, go to culture corps wep page.
