2009 Summer Institute for Norwegians in the Sciences Program
Study of the United States Institutes for Student Leaders

Welcome

Welcome to the 2009 Summer Institute for Norwegians in the Sciences program at the University of Minnesota. We are very excited you are participating in this program. Your program staff will work hard to help create a meaningful and enlightening experience for you here in Minnesota. We look forward to your arrival!

About Our Program

The main objective of this program is to create a way for participants to best integrate the themes of scholarly work being done in Minnesota on the Arctic and Polar Regions, climate change, and sustainability. During the program, researchers and practitioners throughout Minnesota will share their research, theory, and practice with the participants. Students will also go on several site visits and do their own research on a relevant topic of interest. In addition to the academic component, everyone will participate in cultural events in order to fully immerse themselves in the American culture.

Participants

This summer’s participants are Fulbright Scholars that come from various cities throughout Norway. There are four men and eight women enrolled in the program.
