GLBT Discussion and Support Group
For International Students and Scholars
A confidential group for gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, transgendered or questioning, International Students and Scholars who would like to discuss issues which affect GLBT International Students and Scholars is being formed. This will be a supportive environment, facilitated by a gay staff member from ISSS, which will have goals and an agenda designed by the members of the group. We will endeavor to maintain confidentiality and group members will not be required to come out to anyone. We hope to provide participants a comfortable space to discuss issues such as dealing with coming out, family, relationships, re-entry to home country, issues about understanding domestic GLBT culture and any subject matter that the group decides is relevant to the experience of International Students and Scholars who are dealing with GLBT related issues or challenges.
You may call 612-626-4797 or email rohov002@umn.edu to find out the details of our first meeting, the answers to any questions you have about the group and the phone call or email will be confidential; no personal information will be required. The phone call or email will be handled by a gay-identified staff member and no questions will be asked. We are looking for a group of people who want to explore dealing with GLBT issues as International Students and Scholars in a safe, supportive and confidential environment.
