Gathers small groups of international students and scholars together in an intimate atmosphere to explore their cross-cultural experiences and perspectives.
Focuses on assisting international students and scholars in developing the intercultural skills and strategies needed for successful study, work, and living in the U.S.
Orientates newly admitted international students to living and studying in the U.S., the valuable resources available at the University of Minnesota, and how to maintain their non-immigrant legal status.
Administers a limited amount of financial aid to degree-seeking international students who are experiencing financial hardship due to unforeseen circumstances. This program is available to those who have completed one-year or more of full-time credits at the University of Minnesota.
The USBT program is supported by the Educational Information and Resources Branch at the U.S. Department of State. The program provides EducationUSA advisers the opportunity to visit U.S. campuses and learn about application procedures, financial assistance, standardize testing, and much more. The University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, College of St. Catherine’s, Minneapolis Community and Technical College, and St. Olaf College will be hosting 4 -5 educational advisers between May 17 – May 22.
Provides graduate students in the Educational Policy & Administration Department with the opportunity to work within the International Student & Scholar Services Office for a summer term.
