How will my Culture Corps Application be evaluated?
All project applications will be evaluated as fundable or not fundable by the Culture Corps committee based on the following criteria:
- Application is complete and approved by the deadline (application and personal information sections on the website are complete; mentor has submitted a letter of support to the Culture Corps office)
- Evaluation forms from any previous semester projects have been submitted (not applicable to first-time applicants)
- How the project adds to the internationalization of the University of Minnesota
- The degree of creativity in the project design and message (repeat projects that no longer appear to challenge the project leader will be given less consideration)
- The degree to which the project leader will be challenged to learn new skills sets
- The amount of time each project will take to implement

Quotes
"Culture Corps gives an important message
to international students and their departments: Don't hide differences,
use them!"
Anja Klock
"Our dictionary
project, although far from completion, is making gigantic strides
in the right direction thanks to the insights Ms. Reinertsen
provides and the discussions we have about the actual, contemporary
usages in Norwegian. These kinds of issues will prove to be
beneficial to all Norwegian language students at the University
of Minnesota and beyond."
Dr. Louis Janus
Center for Advanced Research on Language Acquisition (CARLA)
"International
students expose the University community to a different type
of knowledge that we otherwise overlook."
Dr. Mohammed Bari, Culture Corps Founder
