Program Information

Each new international student, buddy, will be matched with a current UMN student who will serve as their buddy mentor. The buddy mentors will assist their new buddy:

  • Before arrival with weekly email communications beginning after December 1st
  • After arrival with a personal tour of campus and attending large group International Buddy Program events with your buddy mentor
  • During the first three weeks of the semester with individual meetings with your buddy mentor

Large Group Events

Below are the dates for the spring semester International Buddy Program large group events. All buddies and mentors are expected to attend all three events. Mark your calendar!

Welcoming You to the U Party
Thursday, January 14th
5 pm

Reconnection Gathering
Friday, January 29th
4 pm

Community Engagement Event
Mid-February
