Dr. Kay Thomas
Dr. Kay Thomas Kay Thomas is the Director of International Student and Scholar Services. She has worked at the University of Minnesota in International Education for 39 years. She holds a Ph.D. degree in Educational Psychology and teaches cross-cultural counseling in that department. She is an adjunct faculty in the Department of Educational Psychology and the Department of Educational Policy and Administration, has published in the areas of cross cultural counseling and international education, and has done collaborative research in Japan. She has held frequent positions and responsibilities in NAFSA, Association of International Educators, and served the organization as its national president. She has been a consultant to the State Department and the Immigration and Naturalization Service and presented programs and workshops nationally and internationally. She has received two Fulbright awards, one to Japan and another to Korea.
