Document Check
Document Check for Fall 2008 NEW STUDENTS begins on Monday, June 2, 2008.
Between June 2 and August 1, 2008, Document Check for students admitted Fall 2008 will be on Monday-Friday from 1pm-3:45pm in 190 Humphrey. You do not need to schedule an appointment.
Beginning August 4, 2008, Document Check for students admitted Fall 2008 will be on Monday-Thursday from 8am-11:45am and 1pm-3:45pm and on Friday from 10:30am-11:45am and 1pm-3:45pm in 110 Heller Hall. You do not need to schedule an appointment.
Please Note:
Our office will be closed July 4 and September 1 for University Holidays.

Please bring your:
- I-20 or DS-2019,
- passport, visa,
- I-94 card,
- Previous school′s I-20/DS-2019(if applicable),
- admission letter and University of Minnesota ID number (on your admission letter),
- Graduate Assistantship (TA/RA) offer letter (if applicable),
- Sponsor letter (if applicable),
- Dependent I-20 / DS-2019 (if applicable)
- Dependent passport and visa (if applicable)
- Dependent I-94 card (if applicable)
During Document Check, you will submit the materials listed above to an international student advisor. The advisor will photocopy and review your documents, provide information for new students, and explain how to obtain a Social Security Number (SSN) if you’re eligible for one. Also, during Document Check you will sign up for the International Student Orientation Program (ISOP). Your registration holds, which prevent you from registering for classes, will be discussed with you during Document Check.

: Document Check must be completed before you can attend ISOP.
