Admission Procedures

Exchange students are typically admitted to an undergraduate non-degree seeking program of study. All admissions decisions are made by the Undergraduate Admissions Office. If a student is formally nominated by an established exchange partner, the application forms have been sent to the partner institution with instructions for submitting paper applications through International Student and Scholar Services.

Students who are interested in applying for a term or year at the University of Minnesota outside of a formal active exchange are able to do so directly through the Undergraduate Admissions office web site

Choose the link for “International Students” on the right-side menu. Both Degree- and Non-Degree Seeking students complete the same form. There will be an opportunity on the form to select “Non-Degree” application. At this time, Non-Degree Seeking applicants are NOT required to pay the $45 Application Fee.
