If ISSS issued your DS-2019, just update your address in One
Stop to report your address change.
- Go to http://www.onestop.umn.edu/
- Click on the link "Personal Information" located in the right-hand column.
- Log in using your X.500 ID and password
- When the "Personal Information" screen appears, use
the menu at the top of the screen to go to "Personal Addresses"
- Choose "Current Mailing Address," SEVIS only recognizes
the current mailing address value in One Stop
- Update your residential address in "current mailing address"
- You must use a U.S. address, do not use a foreign address
- Do not use a P.O. box, you must use the street address where
you reside
- Do not use your office or department address
- A zip code is required by SEVIS. The zip code must be limited to 5 digits
- Click on the submit bar
Once your "current mailing" address is changed in One
Stop, ISSS is automatically notified, and we will automatically
notify SEVIS. If you are subject to Special
Registration (NSEERS), the update in UMN One Stop also fulfills
the NSEERS address reporting requirement (J-1s only).
Some scholars may not have access to the One Stop page (if you
do not have an X.500 ID). If this is the case, you must ask your
hosting academic department to change your address in One Stop.
Again, the change in One Stop must occur within 10 days of the actual
change of your residential address.
J-2 Dependents (DS-2019 was issued by ISSS)
If the J-2 dependent is living in the U.S. with the J-1, when
the J-1 updates her or his address on One Stop, the J-2s record
will also be updated automatically in SEVIS.
Any J-2 dependent who is living separately from the J-1 scholar
or student must file an AR-11
Form, within 10 days of moving.
If J-2 dependents are affected by Special
Registration (NSEERS) and living in the U.S. separately from
the J-1, the dependents must file AR-11SR
when they move to another address. They must do so within 10 days
of moving. ISSS suggests making a photocopy of the complete form
for their personal records. ISSS recommends that they send the form
by certified mail so that they have proof that they have complied
with the requirement.
Please See Guidelines for
Completing the AR-11
